IAM District 9 Bed Build Volunteer Event in Alton, Illinois

The IAM District 9 Human Rights and Community Service Committee is inviting volunteers to take part in a community bed build supporting Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a nonprofit that builds and delivers beds to children in need.

Join us for the opportunity to improve a child’s comfort by teaming up with Sleep in Heavenly Peace by building beds for local children, which may be the very first bed of their own. This event will take place on June 13, 2026 at 9AM to 12PM in Alton, Illinois.

We are accepting donations for brand new twin sized sheet sets, twin comforter/bed-in-a-bag and standard size pillows.

We will also have opportunity to deliver the newly built beds. There is a limited group size for deliveries. Please let us know if you’re interested in being part of the delivery team.
